About the position

The Specialist II Social Media Content Creator at Giant Food is responsible for assisting the Social Media Manager in creating innovative and strategically driven content for various social media platforms. This role involves developing and executing social-first content, staying updated on social media trends, and ensuring alignment with the brand's strategy and visual guidelines. The position requires a creative individual with a passion for food and social media, capable of producing engaging content that enhances brand engagement and drives sales.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the social strategy as outlined by the Social Media Manager and Creative Director.
  • Concept social-first content for various marketing calendar activations.
  • Produce all aspects of content from filming to video editing and voiceovers.
  • Write engaging, social-first copy in collaboration with the Sr. Copywriter and agency partners.
  • Develop breakthrough content that communicates the brand message across all social media channels.
  • Stay current with social media trends and develop unique content that engages the audience.
  • Maintain the content calendar to support the social strategy.
  • Research and negotiate partnerships with influencers for content execution.
  • Facilitate effective communication with various teams to meet project objectives.
  • Adapt creative based on constructive feedback and business needs.
  • Attend events to capture social media content as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Media, Communications, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of related work experience.
  • Creative examples required, including an online portfolio showcasing relevant content.
  • Robust knowledge of platform algorithms and hashtag strategies.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Advanced skills in photography/video capture and editing.
  • Proficient understanding of design principles and typography.
  • Skilled at calendar building and content management.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills with strong time management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of Adobe AfterEffects.
