About the position
As a Specialist in Industrial Automation and Controls, you will serve as a trusted advisor and technical support professional for the Wesco Global Solutions business. This role involves providing first-tier support across various technologies and acting as a technical advisor to multiple sales organizations. You will engage with customers to deliver credible solutions, educate sales teams, and support project evaluations and resource requirements.
Responsibilities
- Deliver credibility and value to customers in the education and positioning of technology solutions.
- Work closely with Sales and key suppliers to build effective solutions that meet customer expectations.
- Educate sales teams on key areas supported by the Technology Support Services team.
- Evaluate project opportunities and determine resource requirements.
- Escalate complex projects to the Senior Specialist or Solution Architect teams.
- Collaborate with Senior Specialists and Solution Architects to meet customer timelines and expectations.
- Engage in sales opportunities or support requests globally.
- Support the Global Training Program as both a trainer and participant.
- Assist sales in identifying and positioning Supply Chain Solutions to maximize sales potential.
Requirements
- Associates' Degree or College Diploma, or equivalent technical experience required.
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical or engineering discipline preferred.
- 5 years of experience in technical design, implementation, or commissioning.
- Customer-centric mindset.
- Fundamental computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Strong technical skills with the ability to make recommendations in the designated area of responsibility.
- BICSI RCDD or equivalent industry certification.
