About the position

The Specialist Instructional Designer II at Primoris Renewable Energy is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training programs aimed at improving performance within the organization. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to create customized training solutions, managing project timelines, and utilizing project management tools to ensure deliverables are met. The position requires effective communication with the Learning and Development (L&D) team and other departments to address training needs and coordinate training offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and evaluate training programs that drive measurable performance improvement.
  • Effectively analyze training needs through various methods such as surveys, interviews, and document reviews.
  • Work closely with SMEs and stakeholders to understand their needs and propose customized training solutions.
  • Communicate with the L&D team and larger department about roadblocks and work towards solutions.
  • Manage L&D project deliverables and timelines to achieve goals and quality expectations.
  • Develop and maintain project plans to communicate progress and actions required to meet deliverable expectations.
  • Utilize project management technology to provide visibility to project progress and support team collaboration.
  • Identify high-quality trainings from third parties to address areas of need within the company.
  • Create assessments or tracking practices to effectively assess employees' ability to perform trained skills.
  • Collaborate frequently with the Lead Training Specialist and other L&D team members.
  • Coordinate with the Primoris Corporate Office and other business units regarding training offerings and needs.
  • Assist with other L&D tasks and initiatives as directed.

Requirements

  • College degree in Instructional Design, Education, Construction, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in Instructional Design or related fields.
  • Excellent skills in time management and working autonomously.
  • Proficiency in the ADDIE model and related instructional design techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate media equipment such as projectors and personal computers.
  • Highly organized with a positive demeanor and dependable work ethic.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing construction-related trainings.
  • Proficient in capturing and editing videos.
  • Proficient in Spanish.
  • Proficiency in authoring tools such as Captivate and Storyline.
