About the position

L3Harris Corporation is seeking an Operations Integration and Test Engineer/System Test Architect who will lead system test activities on proposals, program products, and prototype hardware for high-reliability space hardware assemblies of moderate to high complexity. The candidate is required to have expert knowledge of engineering concepts, principles, theories, and techniques needed to develop test programs to thoroughly test radiometric imaging and non-imaging spaceflight products, equipment, and systems. This role is critical in ensuring that the systems meet the rigorous standards required for space applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating system test documentation, including Test Requirements Documents, Test Design Documents, and Test Procedures. They will direct support personnel in the day-to-day execution of the system test readiness and execution tasks. Strong program leadership skills and expertise in space system development execution are essential for this position. The engineer will manage medium to complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization, involving large cross-functional teams. In addition, the role involves overseeing and coordinating high visibility system test efforts, which include formal cost, schedule, and technical responsibilities, as well as system readiness reviews that require direct customer interface. The engineer will also be responsible for planning and requesting manpower, equipment, and process resources necessary for successful project execution. Collaboration with Systems Engineering and other engineering functions is crucial to provide compliant, best value solutions for customers. The engineer will interface with design engineers and suppliers to ensure hardware is producible and will support the build and modification of system test equipment, addressing procurement, assembly methods, tooling design, process development, and the resolution of manufacturing, quality, and reliability issues. The position may require up to 25% travel to support L3Harris products, making flexibility and adaptability key traits for candidates.
