This role will provide timely and accurate investment and derivatives data accounting and reporting for the General Account Invested Assets on a Statutory, GAAP, Management, and Tax basis. The individual will be responsible for performing securities research, analysis, and proper accounting treatment of Lincoln Financial Group's (LFG) investment positions to support strategic investment operations and initiatives. The position requires collaboration with key stakeholders across the enterprise to facilitate the accurate and timely completion of the investment accounting process for assigned areas of responsibility. The successful candidate will communicate identified risks and financial implications to management, ensuring that responsibilities are completed accurately and on time. They will identify and communicate process improvements that can reduce workloads or improve quality within their assigned areas. Maintaining the investment accounting's internal control system to ensure SOX compliance is crucial, along with recommending enhancements as necessary. The role also involves staying updated on current and emerging developments and trends in the assigned areas, assessing their impact, and collaborating with management to incorporate these trends into current and future solutions. In addition, the individual will prepare and communicate concise and focused technical financial documents, presentations, and communications for a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences. This includes preparing earning memos and analysis on key metrics for the general account team, as well as financial footnote information for SEC, GAAP, and statutory reporting. The role promotes and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and departmental or enterprise initiatives within assigned areas of responsibility. Furthermore, the individual will provide accounting information on fixed income and derivative investments for existing and developing investment strategies, ensuring compliance with accounting and reporting regulations. They will also resolve discrepancies and take actions on inquiries related to General Account Invested Assets from portfolio management and multiple asset managers.
