About the position

The Specialist, Lead Human Resources position at Pflugerville Independent School District is designed to lead the Position Management team, ensuring compliance with laws and effective processing of personnel actions. The role involves training staff, maintaining employee records, and providing high-quality customer service to district employees. The specialist will also assist with data entry, HR electronic programs, and various administrative tasks within the HR department.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with coordinating and training Position Management Specialist with HR processes.
  • Create and/or update manuals for Position Management team.
  • Liaison between Laserfiche and Human Resources.
  • Assist visitors and/or employees as needed with all matters related to HR.
  • Respond to questions from employees and principals regarding salaries and/or positions.
  • Assist with maintenance of all personnel records within Position Management System.
  • Work cooperatively with campus, business office, and personnel office staff to collect, organize and format data required for submission to the district's Position Management System.
  • Accurately and efficiently enter personnel and position management information; process all position management forms.
  • Perform file and record maintenance; process service records requests; track and follow up with employee delinquent or missing documents.
  • Process Monthly and/or Bi-Weekly payroll in Position Management System.
  • Research, prepare, and distribute contracts to employees.
  • Prepare new employee personnel files and assist with New Employee Information Sessions.
  • Assist with campus roster visits and revisions.
  • Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Assist in the hiring process by coordinating job postings, reviewing resumes, and performing telephone follow-ups.
  • Assist with H/R Forms, assure proper approvals, and disseminate approved forms.
  • Create various reports for administrative staff.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining job descriptions.
  • Assist with issuing fingerprint fast pass and background checks, new employee orientations, including I-9 processing.
  • Follow Educator Code of Conduct & all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five years of related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of position management systems (i.e. Skyward software).
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and techniques related to school district salary administration.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions with limited supervision and maintain accurate records.
  • Skill in organizational techniques and meeting established deadlines.
  • Skill in working with various types of equipment including personal computers and data entry systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a school district HR environment.
  • Familiarity with Laserfiche and HR electronic programs.
