The Specialist, Legal Affairs (Paralegal) position at the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is a full-time role located at the APTA headquarters in Alexandria, VA. This position is integral to the processing and management of legal contracts for the Association, reporting directly to the Director of Legal Affairs/General Counsel. The successful candidate will be a certified paralegal with a solid foundation in legal principles, procedures, and terminology. The role involves implementing strategies that support organizational priorities while focusing on departmental contributions to the Association's mission. In this position, the paralegal will serve as a liaison to staff for general contracts information, ensuring smooth communication and timely resolution of queries. The individual will also be responsible for managing APTA's legal software, providing guidance and training to staff as needed. Additionally, the paralegal will set up and maintain a legal calendar for contracts, advising on renewals and updates, and will maintain the agenda for legal team meetings. A strong working knowledge of the Association's policies and procedures is essential, as is the ability to foster positive and collaborative relationships with staff.
