About the position

The Multi-Media Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Public Relations Department by providing assistance in the area of multi-media. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about video production and have a strong desire to collaborate with various stakeholders within the district. The specialist will be responsible for producing high-quality marketing videos that highlight district and campus initiatives, ensuring that the visual representation aligns with the goals of the school district. The role requires proficiency in filming, editing, and producing professional video and digital film projects, as well as a solid understanding of the technical aspects of video production, including the use of lighting, cameras, and editing software. In addition to video production, the Multi-Media Specialist will coordinate videotaping and editing services for various campuses and departments within the district. This includes maintaining and managing audio-visual and broadcast technology equipment, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order and troubleshooting any issues that may arise. The specialist will also be responsible for archiving files of all SISD-TV programs, Board meetings, news coverage, and events, which is essential for maintaining a comprehensive record of the district's activities. The position demands strong organizational and communication skills, as the specialist will need to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously. The ability to maintain effective working relationships with parents, students, colleagues, and community members is also critical, as the specialist will provide customer service to various stakeholders. Overall, the Multi-Media Specialist is expected to uphold the safety rules and policies of the SISD safety program and support the district's goals and objectives while performing any other duties as assigned by the appropriate supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Works in conjunction with Chief Communications Officer and Video Production Specialist to produce marketing videos to help highlight district/campus initiatives.
  • Coordinate and provide videotaping and editing services for SISD campuses and departments.
  • Coordinate and maintain use of audio visual and broadcast technology equipment.
  • Meets deadlines and works well under pressure.
  • Helps maintain and archive files of all SISD-TV programs, Board meetings, news coverage, and events.
  • Ability to use all hardware, software, video equipment, audio equipment, photography equipment, and lighting equipment, and troubleshoot problems with said equipment as needed.
  • Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the SISD safety program.
  • Supports the goals and objectives of the school district and follows all district policies.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by the appropriate supervisor.
  • Demonstrates the ability to attend work on a regular and routine basis to avoid disruption to district operations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain an effective working relationship and maintain good rapport with parents, students, colleagues, and the community.
  • Provides optimal customer service to all students, employees, parents, community members and any other stakeholders of the district.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Applied Sciences, or 3 equivalent years in directly related professional experience.
  • One year of experience in a field related to Video Productions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in filming, editing, and producing quality, professional video and digital film projects.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of video, film lighting, portrait strobe lighting, DSLR cameras, photography and teleprompter equipment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of current Adobe Creative Suite software or comparable product.
  • Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of digital video and digital photography conversion files and standards.
