About the position

The Instrument Repair Technician is responsible for repairing musical instruments efficiently and effectively, ensuring they are returned to customers in optimal playing condition. The technician may specialize in a specific type of instrument or work across various types, including brass, woodwind, orchestral, or percussion instruments. This role involves providing repair estimates, adhering to timelines, and maintaining high-quality standards in all repair work.

Responsibilities

• Clean and repair at least one type of instrument (brass, woodwind, orchestral, or percussion).
• Provide estimates for the repair of instruments.
• Work within a timetable to ensure completion of work within estimated cost and time.
• Perform repairs on customer-owned and retail instruments from student to professional levels.
• Deliver work at an hourly rate exceeding the shop's standard rate, ensuring excellent quality.
• Assist at repair clinics or school events as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Apprenticeship or diploma from an accredited repair school.
• At least 6 years of experience working on musical instruments on a daily basis preferred.
