About the position

The Specialist, Payroll Systems position at DaVita is a hybrid role based in Federal Way, WA, primarily focused on processing payroll for the Enterprise. The role involves managing both on-demand and biweekly payroll runs, ensuring that all payroll-related tasks are executed efficiently and accurately. The specialist will also support the functionality of timekeeping and Human Capital Management (HCM) applications, providing essential problem resolution and support to Village Teammates. This position is critical in maintaining the integrity of payroll systems and ensuring compliance with various policies and regulations. In this role, the specialist will spend a significant portion of their time troubleshooting and resolving payroll system-related ServiceNow tickets, ensuring that issues are addressed within established service level agreements. Additionally, the specialist will be responsible for processing various payroll tasks on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis, which is essential for maintaining accurate payroll records and timely payments to employees. The position also requires the specialist to ensure proper use and access controls to payroll applications, assist in gathering requirements, and validate updates to timekeeping and payroll configurations. Compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding payroll and timekeeping is a key responsibility, ensuring that all processes adhere to legal standards. Overall, this role is vital for the smooth operation of payroll systems and the support of DaVita's commitment to its employees.

Responsibilities

  • Process on demand and biweekly payroll runs for the Enterprise.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve all payroll systems related ServiceNow tickets within the established service level agreements.
  • Process daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly tasks.
  • Ensure proper use and access controls to the timekeeping and payroll applications.
  • Assist with gathering requirements, test and validate updates of timekeeping and payroll configurations for production.
  • Ensure compliance with policy, procedures, and federal, state and local laws as it pertains to timekeeping and payroll.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience with payroll systems, preferably Kronos and Workday.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively.
  • Demonstrated strengths in organizational, attention-to-detail, follow-through, analytical, reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of general ledger accounting functions, specifically accounting strings.
  • Functional knowledge of payroll processes and procedures.
  • Multi-state payroll processing experience.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
