About the position

The Specialist Procurement position at Merck involves working within a global team to manage category sourcing and procurement strategies specifically for Media. The role focuses on developing and implementing sourcing strategies, enhancing supplier performance, and fostering innovation while ensuring corporate social responsibility. The candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to optimize value and manage risks associated with procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Support Associate Director and SSC on projects and strategic initiatives to drive procurement value proposition in Media.
• Improve Service Delivery via Enhanced Supplier Performance Management.
• Manage supply risk and leverage top suppliers' capabilities.
• Sustain existing and develop new cooperation frameworks across multiple stakeholder groups within the Marketing organization.
• Drive assurance of supply, quality, service, cost, innovation, and regulatory compliance within assigned categories.
• Use market knowledge and data analysis to inform Sourcing Strategies and continuous improvement activities.
• Prepare and support pre-negotiation planning, live negotiations, RFIs, RFP/Qs, e-auctions, and cost modelling.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Collaborative nature with the ability to connect and get things done across the organization.
• High level of analytical and rational thinking.
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
• Strengths in collaboration, written and verbal communications, and cross-functional teamwork.
