About the position

As a Procurement Specialist at StandardAero, you will play a crucial role in managing inventory and purchasing duties to ensure that the business unit has the necessary materials and supplies to meet operational needs. This position involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, all while supporting production and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inventory planning and purchasing duties for direct and indirect purchases.
  • Analyze business unit requirements for inventory and supplies using planning tools and forecasts.
  • Source and negotiate quality products and services for the company.
  • Manage and optimize inventory levels in vending machines.
  • Coordinate transfers of inventory between facilities to maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Obtain and review quotes through various processes, from informal RFQs to full tendering.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best value for purchases while maintaining quality requirements.
  • Support site requirements by sourcing and coordinating contractors and service providers.
  • Assist in preparing business cases for capital expenditure requests with suppliers and end users.
  • Initiate purchase orders and monitor deliveries based on business needs.
  • Resolve delivery, quality, or cost/invoicing problems with suppliers.
  • Maintain item master data integrity, including product categories and inventory strategy.
  • Comprehend and react to supply chain performance metrics for assigned inventory.
  • Pursue supplier consolidation and negotiate contracts to reduce costs.
  • Understand and comply with supplier sourcing and approval policies.
  • Manage supplier warranty processes for goods or services requiring rework or credit.
  • Identify and execute strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce waste.

Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma; preference for post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, or Supply Chain.
  • 3 to 5 years of prior procurement experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of sourcing, tendering, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective conflict resolution and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with changing responsibilities.
  • Experience in an aviation or MRO environment is an asset.
