About the position

The Program Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organization, particularly in the aerospace and defense sector. This position involves managing complex financial projects, ensuring the integrity of Earned Value Management (EVM) data, and performing various financial tasks such as report writing, cost accounting, and account analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of corporate finance principles, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards while effectively managing accounts payable and financial statement preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of Earned Value Management data integrity for multiple programs.
  • Perform forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow assessments on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Maintain and update projects in SAP, ensuring EAC (Estimate at Completion) accuracy.
  • Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on program financials.
  • Create and deliver Integrated Program Management Report (IPMR) deliverables.
  • Support internal and external audits for assigned programs.
  • Prepare moderately complex proposal cost estimates and pricing data.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as needed.
  • Collaborate across functions to improve processes and systems.
  • Lead variance report creation and review with Control Account Managers (CAM).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 4 years with a Graduate degree.
  • Experience with COBRA and SAP systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM) processes and concepts.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or CPA.
  • Experience managing financials for highly visible programs.
  • Familiarity with government contracts such as CPAF, CPFF, T&M, FFP.
  • Certifications like PMP, EVMP, or similar.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
