About the position

The Specialist, Revenue Accounting position at American Airlines is a key role within the Revenue Accounting Team in the Finance Division. Responsibilities

• Perform basic accounting functions such as auditing accounting data, processing refund claims, and handling debit/credit memos.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner, including correspondence with external contacts.
• Complete data entry of accounting information accurately.
• Edit and audit daily passenger ticket and ancillary refund requests.
• Distribute and store month-end closing statistics reports.
• Assist with various ad-hoc projects as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalency.
• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field is preferred.
• Airline or travel agency accounting experience is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Logical and analytical thinking ability.
