This role will be filled in a hybrid capacity, with collaboration taking place in one of our office locations in Columbus, OH, Scottsdale, AZ, or Des Moines, IA. This role supports the PLS PolicyCenter Run Team Activities in the PROD environment. This role will be responsible for providing solutions that are leveraging current digital and cloud native technologies for our Auto, Property, Powersports and Umbrella product offerings at Nationwide P&C. Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.
  • Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
  • Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
  • Manages medium to large project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience working with Guidewire products, specifically Guidewire Policy Center Version 10+.
  • Experience with unit testing, code coverage, and best practices.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs.
  • Understanding of Kafka and Microservices.
  • Monitoring using NewRelic and Splunk.
  • Understanding of SQL databases, with the ability to write queries.
  • Understanding of IT Service Management Processes.
  • Understanding of DevOps, cloud concepts, and Agile methodologies.
  • Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree.
  • Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript.

Nice-to-haves

  • Insurance and Personal Lines product knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with IIBv10 Aggregation, Message Flows, Message Maps, and ESQL is a huge plus.
  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment.
  • Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
