As a Specialist in Financial Reporting (Statutory) at Lincoln Financial Group, you will play a crucial role in preparing, analyzing, and reporting on financial statements in accordance with statutory accounting principles and standards. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to leverage their knowledge in financial reporting while managing routine assignments and projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all financial reporting activities align with the established accounting and reporting calendars, and you will conduct thorough financial analyses on both consolidated and business unit results. Your insights will support various business unit teams and partners, enhancing the overall financial reporting process. In addition to preparing and analyzing financial statements, you will participate in accounting close activities, which include the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations. Staying informed about current and emerging developments in your areas of responsibility is essential, as you will need to assess their impact and collaborate with management to integrate new trends into existing solutions. You will also be tasked with identifying and researching any reporting issues that arise from the application of accounting principles and standards, particularly those set forth by the NAIC and other regulatory bodies. Your role will involve the preparation, review, and filing of quarterly and annual NAIC financial statements and other regulatory filings. You will be expected to promote and enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing change management and departmental initiatives. Additionally, you will identify and communicate process improvements to management that can reduce workloads or improve quality in your assigned areas. This position requires a proactive approach to routine assignments and projects, ensuring that you apply your knowledge effectively to meet the demands of the role. You will also provide support for the coordination of SOX, MAR, and regulatory testing to comply with key controls developed for the group, as well as assist in the preparation and review of internal management reporting.
