About the position

The AD & SDR Technical Specialist at Frontier Airlines plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service Difficulty Reporting (SDR) requirements. This position involves reviewing regulatory documents, maintaining databases, and coordinating compliance efforts across departments to uphold safety and operational standards within the airline's maintenance and quality assurance divisions.

Responsibilities

  • Review all ADs and Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) for applicability to Frontier's Maintenance and Quality Assurance division.
  • Receive and review all SDRs submitted for technical accuracy, comprehension, and completeness.
  • Generate an Airworthiness Directive Analysis Worksheet (ADAW) and submit Engineering Action Requests (EAR).
  • Distribute AD information to appropriate parties.
  • Receive, record, and distribute ADs, NPRMs, and maintenance-related CFRs for evaluation and incorporation into Frontier.
  • Review Engineering Orders applicable to ADs or new or changing CFRs.
  • Maintain a database of all ADs and NPRMs.
  • Monitor Maintenance organization activities for compliance with all ADs and report status to the AD Review Board.
  • Monitor all aspects of AD compliance and report delinquent status to the Manager of Regulatory Compliance.
  • Review AD status of airplanes Frontier is considering for acquisition.
  • Manage and coordinate compliance of maintenance-related regulations with other departments.
  • Edit SDRs as required and process all SDRs into the FAA SDR database.
  • Monitor the timeliness of SDR submittals and report SDR activities to the Director of Quality Assurance/Chief Inspector.
  • Monitor, review, and distribute Unapproved Parts Notices and Special Airworthiness Information Bulletins.
  • Maintain familiarity with training requirements as defined in the GMM.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in airline maintenance, engineering, and/or aircraft records.
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience researching and interpreting CFRs and FAA documentation.
  • Knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations and FAA documentation.
  • Experience working with the FAA.
