About the position

We are looking for a Technical Writer who will be responsible for researching, planning, and producing technical documentation in various electronic formats for a global audience. The role requires working with minimal supervision as a contributing member of a multi-disciplinary team that develops content to support laboratory instrumentation and related software. The Technical Writer will need to establish strong working relationships with Informatics, Projects, Product Marketing, Service, and the global experience team. The candidate should have experience working with Writing Style Guides set by clients and industry standard manuals, possess very good editing and proofreading skills, and have the ability to explain complex topics in a way that's useful to their audience. Preferred qualifications include some experience with firewalls and firewall rules, including Virtual Private Networks and cloud-based services, as well as a basic knowledge of public Cloud technologies such as Cloud Networking technologies and ML/AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan and produce technical documentation in various electronic formats for a global audience.
• Work with minimal supervision as a contributing member of a multi-disciplinary team that develops content to support laboratory instrumentation and related software.
• Establish strong working relationships with Informatics, Projects, Product Marketing, Service, and the global experience team.
• Work with Writing Style Guides set by client and industry standard manuals.
• Edit and proofread technical documents.
• Explain complex topics in a way that's useful to the audience.

Requirements

• 4 - 8 years of relevant experience as a technical writer.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Science/ Technology/ Engineering or Honors in English.
• Certification(s) in Technical Writing (Preferred).
• Understanding of SDLC methodologies, such as Agile.
• Familiarity with Confluence, JIRA, and understanding of WCAG and Accessibility principles in the context of technical writing.

Nice-to-haves

• Some experience with firewalls and firewall rules including Virtual Private Networks and cloud-based services.
• Basic knowledge of public Cloud technologies such as Cloud Networking technologies, ML/AI technologies.
