About the position

The Specialist - Warehouse & Distribution position at Orica is a critical role that bridges the Supply Chain and Commercial & Operations teams. This position is responsible for ensuring optimal inventory levels across multiple sites, supporting inventory management processes, and facilitating communication between various departments to enhance operational efficiency. The role requires a proactive approach to managing inventory, addressing service issues, and implementing strategies to improve inventory turnover and service levels.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support to assigned sites ensuring optimal inventory coverage.
  • Assist with monthly inventory count processes and reconciliation.
  • Work with Supply Chain Management to ensure policies and procedures are followed regarding Inventory Management best practices.
  • Assist Inventory Management team in implementing strategies to maintain inventory at levels that achieve service level and inventory turnover ratio objectives.
  • Act as a liaison for Supply Chain to meet Trade Working Capital objectives.
  • Partner with Commercial & Operations to address improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure all critical requirements are met that facilitate the Order to Invoicing process.
  • Schedule and chair monthly BRR meetings with sites addressing service issues and identifying opportunities.
  • Oversee regular SLOB reviews and action with Site Leaders and Commercial.
  • Participate in and implement process optimization strategies.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant supply chain experience or equivalent education.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain technologies including ERP, data warehouse, planning, and logistics.
  • Experience with Hazardous Materials.
  • High integrity and willingness to travel when required.
  • Proven success in managing diverse work teams regarding training, redirection, motivation, and targeted goals.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with demonstrated execution competency.
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and refined analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SAP.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and electronic mail systems.
