About the position

The Specialized Analytics Sr Anlst is a seasoned professional role that requires a deep understanding of analytics and data management. The role integrates subject matter and industry expertise, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of how various areas collectively integrate within the sub-function and contribute to the overall objectives of the business. The incumbent will evaluate moderately complex and variable issues that have substantial potential impact, requiring the development of approaches and actions that involve weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. In this role, the individual will work with large and complex data sets, both internal and external, to evaluate, recommend, and support the implementation of business strategies. Responsibilities include identifying and compiling data sets using various tools such as SQL and Access to help predict, improve, and measure the success of key business outcomes. The role also involves documenting data requirements, data collection, processing, cleaning, and exploratory data analysis, which may include utilizing statistical models, algorithms, and data visualization techniques. The position may often be referred to as a Data Scientist, with specialization possible in marketing, risk, digital, and AML fields. The incumbent must appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This includes driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, and applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior and business practices. The role also involves coaching and training new recruits, thereby having a significant impact on project size and geography by influencing decisions through advice, counsel, and facilitating services to others in the area of specialization.

Responsibilities

  • Work with large and complex data sets to evaluate, recommend, and support the implementation of business strategies.
  • Identify and compile data sets using tools like SQL and Access to predict, improve, and measure business outcomes.
  • Document data requirements, data collection, processing, cleaning, and exploratory data analysis.
  • Utilize statistical models, algorithms, and data visualization techniques in data analysis.
  • Assess risk when making business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Coach and train new recruits, influencing decisions through advice and counsel.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in analytics or a related field.
  • Ability to retrieve and manipulate data effectively.
  • Advanced analytic ability and problem-solving skills to address business questions with innovative data-driven solutions.
  • Solid background in AI/ML modeling.
  • Experience in a quantitative field, preferably in the Financial/Credit Card industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to a matrix work environment.
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in a quantitative analysis field is preferred.
