About the position

The Specialty Cook at Episcopal Retirement Services is responsible for preparing and cooking specialty food orders while ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. This role involves coordinating with kitchen staff to deliver timely service and providing excellent customer service to guests. Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook specialty food orders.
• Coordinate the service of specialty items with other kitchen staff to ensure simultaneous delivery of orders.
• Prepare salads, fresh fruit, and vegetables for dinner service.
• Bake fresh cookies and pastries for service in the dining room and Internet Café.
• Maintain a secondary supply of fresh entrees, vegetables, and sides for uninterrupted service.
• Follow safety regulations and report any accidents or hazardous conditions immediately.
• Fill in as needed in the cook's absence if trained.
• Provide outstanding customer service to all customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of previous cooking experience in a restaurant or equivalent environment.
• Strong knife skills, including minimizing waste of fruits and vegetables during preparation.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Minimum age of eighteen (18) years.
• Serve Safe certified or willing to obtain certification upon hire.
