About the position

The Specialty Sales Team Leader at Target is responsible for leading a team of specialized consultants to enhance guest experiences in various departments, including Apparel and Accessories, Home, Baby, Beauty, and Electronics. This role emphasizes guest service, operational excellence, and effective team management to achieve sales goals and maintain a vibrant shopping environment.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
  • Model, train, and coach team member expectations to deliver on the guest service model.
  • Plan daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver sales goals.
  • Lead multiple businesses, balancing team member expertise and effectively leading teams in each department.
  • Develop, coach, and lead a team of consultants knowledgeable about various departments.
  • Encourage team to use available tools to enhance guest experiences.
  • Partner with third-party vendors to ensure brand standards and merchandising are met.
  • Support the execution of revisions, sales plans, and visual merchandising for defined categories.
  • Create inspiring visual moments and ensure product organization and signage.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Support team onboarding and help close product knowledge and skill gaps.
  • Ensure fitting rooms are welcoming, clean, and safe.
  • Model a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Address store needs such as emergencies and regulatory visits.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
