The Specialty Sales Team Leader at Target is responsible for leading a team of specialized consultants to enhance guest experiences through effective merchandising and operations. This role emphasizes building a guest-first culture, managing sales goals, and ensuring product availability while fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. The position requires strong leadership skills to coach and develop team members in various specialty departments, including Apparel and Accessories, Home, Baby, Beauty, and Electronics.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
• Model, train, and coach team member expectations to deliver on the guest service model culture.
• Understand sales goals, plan daily/weekly workload, and execute to deliver on department and store sales goals.
• Lead and demonstrate a culture of executing all best practices as outlined with team onboarding and learning.
• Develop, coach, and lead a team of consultants knowledgeable about various departments.
• Encourage team to use tools available in their department to enhance guest experience.
• Support team's execution of revisions, sales plans, and visual merchandising guidelines.
• Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
• Ensure fitting rooms are welcoming, clean, and safe.
• Model a safety advocacy culture and hold the team accountable to safety standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
• Effective communication skills.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
