About the position

The Specialty Sales Team Leader at Target is responsible for leading a team of specialized consultants to enhance guest experiences through effective operations and compelling visual merchandising. This role emphasizes building a guest-first culture, managing sales goals, and ensuring product availability while fostering team development and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
  • Model, train, and coach team member expectations to deliver on the guest service model culture.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development and modeling inclusive behaviors.
  • Understand sales goals and plan daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals.
  • Lead and demonstrate a culture of executing best practices as outlined with team onboarding and learning.
  • Develop, coach, and lead a team of consultants knowledgeable about various departments.
  • Encourage team to use tools available in their department to enhance guest experience.
  • Partner with third-party vendors to ensure brand standards and merchandising are met.
  • Support team's execution of revisions, sales plans, and visual merchandising guidelines.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Support onboarding and learning to close product knowledge and skill gaps.
  • Ensure fitting rooms are welcoming, clean, and safe.
  • Support the ETL in establishing clear goals and expectations for team members.
  • Model a safety advocacy culture and hold the team accountable for safety compliance.
  • Address store needs such as emergency and regulatory visits.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
