Wells Fargo is seeking a Specialty Software Engineering Senior Manager to lead the Customer Risk & Due Diligence and Financial Crimes Core Components product areas. This technology leader will provide active engineering oversight for a portfolio of applications supporting these areas and drive the adoption of more innovative solutions leveraging cloud and AI/ML. The role encompasses responsibility for the technology strategy, development, execution, and delivery of these critical applications. In this position, you will manage, coach, and develop a team or teams of engineering managers and experienced engineers in specialized domain areas. You will ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture and meet non-functional requirements with each release. Collaboration is key, as you will partner with architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies while understanding next-generation domain architecture and enabling application migration paths to target architecture, such as cloud readiness and application modernization. You will function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning, identifying and recommending opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks. This includes managing the overall software development cycle and security standards. Your role will also involve determining appropriate strategies to act as an escalation partner for scrum masters and teams to meet moderate to high-risk deliverables, while encouraging constant learning, experimentation, and continual improvement. As a leader, you will build engineering skills side-by-side in the codebase, conduct peer reviews to evaluate quality and solution alignment to technical direction, and guide design as needed. You will interpret, develop, and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with moderate complexity, while identifying, managing, and mitigating technology and enterprise risk. Collaboration with Product Managers/Product Owners will be essential to drive user satisfaction and influence technology requirements and priorities in the product roadmap. You will also manage the allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in technology engineering. Hiring and guiding a culture of talent development will be crucial to effectively design and deliver innovative solutions for product areas and products to meet business objectives and strategy. You will be primarily accountable for the relationship with the senior leadership team and the product teams in the Customer Risk & Due Diligence and Financial Crimes Core Component product areas, overseeing mission-critical applications requiring very high availability and robust BCP and failover architecture. Your responsibilities will include defining the technology strategy/roadmap, providing strategic technology perspectives to technology and business executive management, and recommending innovations aligned with short-term and long-term business/customer requirements, enterprise priorities, and industry trends. You will drive technology solutions that efficiently and effectively meet business needs, leveraging enterprise technology services with a bias towards consistency, standards, and common solutions, while providing reusable, scalable, and secure solutions that can be leveraged across the organization. Engaging and enhancing relationships with vendors will also be part of your role.
