About the position
The Specialty Unit Staff RN is responsible for providing professional nursing care in the ICU, leading the healthcare team, and ensuring high standards of patient care. This per diem night shift role requires flexibility and a commitment to quality and effective clinical practice, while treating all individuals with dignity and respect.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process according to established standards.
- Serve as a leader of the healthcare team, delegating tasks and demonstrating accountability.
- Develop and contribute to individualized patient care plans, ensuring multidisciplinary planning and education.
- Monitor patient progress and revise care plans based on ongoing evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards of practice.
- Document nursing interventions and evaluations accurately and timely.
- Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
- Practice customer service standards and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Act as a resource and mentor to new employees and team members.
Requirements
- 1-year recent full-time equivalent experience in Critical Care or completion of a KP Critical Care course within the last 12 months.
- Valid Registered Nurse License in California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
