About the position
Safdie Rabines Architects is seeking a qualified Specification Writer to join their mid-sized, multi-disciplined firm in San Diego, CA. The role requires extensive experience in architectural specification writing, Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC), and comprehensive construction documentation. The ideal candidate will possess strong time management skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare technical documents for a wide range of highly complex building project types including multi-family, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
- Conduct Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) for architectural specifications.
- Manage scheduling and multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
- Mentor junior staff and act as a team leader in project execution.
Requirements
- Professional Degree in Architecture, Engineering, and/or Construction Management from an accredited university architecture program.
- 10-15 years of experience in architectural specification writing and construction documentation.
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Outlook).
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) certification.
- Experience with SpecLink Software.
- Licensure or anticipated licensure in architecture or engineering.
- LEED accreditation.
