About the position
The Specifications & Master Data Specialist at Sugar Foods Corporation plays a crucial role in managing product specifications and technical data across various facilities. This position involves collaboration with multiple departments to ensure data integrity and compliance with industry standards, while also supporting product development and customer inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain finished product manufacturing specifications for all SFC facilities.
- Collaborate with project managers and operations to validate product data integrity.
- Maintain and update the specification database.
- Participate in product development meetings, plant trials, and post-production reviews.
- Create and maintain customer specifications and complete technical product information forms.
- Respond to Customer Service inquiries regarding product allergens, ingredients, and provide necessary documentation.
- Set up and maintain product data in various trading partner databases such as Syndigo and GS1Canada.
- Resolve data discrepancies and fulfill publishing requests to improve marketing messages and nutritional claims.
- Order product images from third-party providers and ensure compliance with GS1 standards.
- Review scorecards from trading partners and resolve issues for scores under 100%.
- Assist the Specification and Master Data Manager on special projects and other duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Equivalency
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Regulatory/QA/R&D in the food industry
- Strong working knowledge of electronic/web-based technical databases
- Ability to write clearly and concisely about technical subjects and concepts
- Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Must maintain positive and professional relationships with cross-functional team members
- Self-starter and team player with a fast-paced work ethic
