About the position

The Specifications Writer I at JLG Architects plays a crucial role in project delivery by generating precise specification contract documents. This position supports the design team, including Project Designers, Project Architects, and Project Managers, ensuring high-quality project outcomes through effective communication and problem-solving skills. The role emphasizes collaboration and integrity, contributing to the overall success of architectural projects.

Responsibilities

• Generate specification contract documents, coordinating with project teams.
• Execute project milestones and timelines with minimal oversight.
• Provide effective verbal, graphic, and written communication with project teams.
• Propose solutions that maintain design intent and are code compliant.
• Review and respond to RFIs during the Construction Administration phase.
• Conduct work with integrity and uphold JLGer behavior standards.
• Complete tasks in a timely manner at the highest quality standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in practice, including internships.
• Advanced knowledge of building codes and building science.
• Advanced knowledge of product data.
• Ability to manage data for up to three projects simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's or Master's of Architecture from an accredited university.
• Registered architect or actively pursuing licensure with at least one passed exam and two purchased testing credits.
• Successful completion of AXP as demonstrated by NCARB record.
• Experience managing projects up to $70 million.
• Total project portfolio demonstrating experience of minimum $250 million in construction value.
• Advanced knowledge of project budget management through cost analysis on a minimum of five projects.
