About the position

The Spectrum Regulatory Counsel at Anduril Industries will play a crucial role in navigating FCC regulations and ensuring compliance for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) technology. This position involves collaborating with various teams to manage federal agency requirements, develop internal processes, and lead regulatory approval efforts, all while fostering relationships with government regulators. The role is designed for a resourceful and creative individual who can handle complex regulatory matters in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Be a key member of Anduril's dynamic Legal Team working closely with company stakeholders to understand and apply federal aviation rules and regulations.
• Provide daily support to test operations efforts; work cross-functionally to identify requirements and develop the best plan for timely and successful testing of our systems.
• Strengthen regulatory approval efforts by coordinating activities across Anduril's test sites and in coordination with key internal stakeholders.
• Maintain spectrum-related regulatory files and track communication and status with government regulators.
• Drive efficient execution of cross-functional regulatory projects and support for product teams.
• Manage relationships with Government regulatory agencies, developing and fostering high-trust professional relationships critical to Anduril's success.
• Provide training and guidance to internal teams.

Requirements

• JD and 5+ years of industry experience implementing FCC and other telecommunications agency rules and regulations.
• In-depth understanding of FCC regulatory requirements, including Special Temporary Authority (STA) application and renewal processes.
• Background and training in radar or radio engineering or other related field.
• Technical knowledge of unmanned and autonomous systems.
• Ability to develop and manage the preparation of technical documentation related to obtaining and managing various authorizations for spectrum related requirements.
• Experience reviewing procedures and process documentation to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Experience implementing DOD policies and procedures and associated records requirements.
• Strong communication, technical writing skills and interpersonal skills.
• The judgment and initiative required to own multiple projects from end-to-end.
• Experience working directly with the FCC, Department of Defense (DoD) or other federal, state or local agencies.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret and Special Access Program (SAP) security clearances.
• Willing and able to work in Anduril's CA office.
• Willing and able to travel at least 25% of time.

• Experience working in a flight research or flight test environment (civil or military).
• Experience working with the Department of Defense.
• Related engineering degree.
• Licensed to practice law in CA or DC.
• Active security clearance.
