About the position

The Speech Language Pathologist PRN position at St. Mark's Hospital involves providing high-quality, efficient care to patients through direct assessment and intervention in speech pathology. The role emphasizes collaboration within a diverse team and aims to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives by addressing various speech and language deficits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct direct assessments and speech pathology interventions based on interdisciplinary treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic evaluations and provide treatment recommendations for speech, language, cognition, oral functioning, and voice deficits.
• Determine the need for referrals to other specialists and consult with primary physicians regarding these needs.
• Plan and deliver effective co-treatments with Physical and Occupational Therapists.
• Develop home programs and provide family training.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in unit committees such as education and quality improvement.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends in Speech Pathology and participate in program development.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Speech Pathology program.
• Current State of Utah Speech Language Pathologist license.
• National certification by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association or completion of Clinical Fellowship year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• One year of related work experience in an acute-care setting is preferred.
