About the position
The Special Education Speech Therapist position is designed for professionals who specialize in speech and language therapy for students in grades PK-12. The role focuses on providing therapeutic services to enhance communication skills and support the educational development of students with speech and hearing challenges. The therapist will work collaboratively with educators and parents to create individualized plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.
Responsibilities
- Provide speech and language therapy to students in grades PK-12.
- Assess students' speech and language abilities and develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to support students' communication needs.
- Monitor and document students' progress and adjust therapy plans as necessary.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions for staff on speech and language development.
Requirements
- Professional certification in Speech and Hearing Therapy or related field.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement individualized therapy plans.
Nice-to-haves
