About the position

As a Speech Therapist at Genesis Home Care, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for patients by providing compassionate, home-based skilled speech therapy care. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, focusing on patient outcomes and family education while ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines and agency policies. This position offers a flexible schedule and competitive financial incentives, including a $15,000 bonus for new hires.

Responsibilities

• Develop an individualized speech therapy plan of care and adjust as needed.
• Guide patients in therapeutic, creative, and self-care activities to improve functioning.
• Observe, record, and report patient reactions, changes, and progress to the attending physician and agency staff.
• Use activities and home exercise programs to improve swallowing, breathing, cognition, speech, and communication.
• Educate patients and their families on disease management and preventative measures to minimize re-hospitalizations.
• Complete all clinical documentation following agency protocol and Medicare/Federal guidelines.
• Attend in-service training and mandatory agency meetings.

Requirements

• Current Speech Therapist license in the state of employment.
• Minimum one year of experience as a Speech Therapist in an acute care setting.
• Home care experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance in your name as a driver.
• Capable of all physical demands.
