About the position

The Speech-Language Pathologist at Warren County Educational Service Center is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and providing remedial activities for students with speech-language disorders. This full-time position involves working collaboratively as part of an intervention team, developing individualized educational plans, and providing direct speech and language services to students. The role requires effective communication with students, parents, and staff, as well as participation in professional development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate students with speech and language handicaps through multi-factored evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) for students with speech-language disorders.
  • Provide speech and language services for habilitation or prevention of communication handicaps.
  • Assist in the development of curriculum guides and local policies related to speech and language.
  • Serve as part of an Intervention Assistance Team (IAT) and implement required interventions.
  • Provide inservice training for school and community regarding speech and language handicaps.
  • Work with students individually and in small groups to provide speech/language services in classrooms.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare data for progress reports and other required documentation.
  • Establish and maintain positive communication with parents and be available for education-related purposes outside instructional hours.
  • Participate in staff meetings and serve on committees as required.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
  • Current license from the Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
  • Current license from the Ohio Department of Education.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Current valid Ohio Driver's License and access to a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted and maneuver stairs unassisted.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
