About the position

The Speech-Language Pathologist at Norman Regional Health System is responsible for performing assessments and establishing care plans for patients with speech and language disorders. This role involves delivering therapy programs, documenting services, and educating patients and their families. The position aims to improve the health and well-being of the community through effective speech therapy services.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition and establish a plan of care.
• Perform therapy programs utilizing standard speech therapy techniques appropriate for the age and disability of the patient.
• Document delivery of Speech Therapy services.
• Educate patients, family, caregivers, and significant others.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
• Current Oklahoma license for Speech-Language Pathology or SLP license eligible with a temporary license.
• ASHACertificate of Clinical Competence or completion within the first year under a licensed therapist as a CFY.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training required during orientation prior to providing patient care.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Dysphagia experience preferred.
• Medicare documentation experience preferred.
• Experience with outpatients, Vital Stim certification preferred.
