About the position

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at NHC HomeCare Laurens is responsible for supervising and applying therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of patients with speech and language disorders, hearing disorders, and oral myofunctional disorders. This role involves developing individualized therapy plans, conducting evaluations, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure effective patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and participate in the application of therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation of patients with speech and language disorders.
  • Develop a speech therapy plan of care in collaboration with patients, their representatives, and the care team.
  • Perform functional evaluations and periodic re-evaluations of patients.
  • Provide goal-oriented care and services as per the established plan of care.
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate speech therapy services according to the established plan of care.
  • Participate in the orientation and ongoing education program for HomeCare personnel.
  • Consult with HomeCare staff regarding communication problems of patients not receiving speech pathology services.

Requirements

  • Must have a master's degree from an approved curriculum in Speech Pathology or its equivalent.
  • Must have a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SP) from the American Speech and Hearing Association or be eligible for a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
  • Must be licensed in the state or states where speech therapy services will be provided.
