About the position

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position in a school setting involves providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for students with speech and language disorders. The role is crucial in helping students improve their communication skills, which are essential for their academic success and social interactions. The SLP will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide therapy services.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students' speech and language abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to support students' communication needs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders.
  • Monitor and document students' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational goals.
  • Educate staff and parents on speech and language development and disorders.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Current state licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Experience working in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Bilingual skills in English and another language.
  • Experience with teletherapy services.
