About the position

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position at CareerStaff Unlimited involves providing full-time, school-based speech therapy services in Jonesboro, GA, for the 2024-2025 school year. The role requires working 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and focuses on supporting students with speech and language impairments through assessment, therapy, and collaboration with school staff.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement.
• Provides a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of speech and hearing handicapped children.
• Assists and guides teachers in observing, describing, and referring to suspected and identified speech and language impairments.
• Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of articulation, voice, hearing, stuttering, and language impairments.
• Provides screening to identify speech-handicapped children at regular intervals and specified levels.
• Provides appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet individual students' needs and to correct existing speech or language handicaps.
• Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by making suggestions for the student's daily activities.
• Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate.
• Provides in-service education and serves as a consultant to teachers and school members on topics concerning speech improvement.
• Keeps thorough ongoing records for the individual student receiving therapy or other school-provided speech services.

Requirements

• Successful completion of the National Certification Examination.
• 1+ years of recent pediatrics/school-based experience preferred.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
• Valid SLP license in GA.
• ASHA certification.
