About the position

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at The Lane House provides direct rehabilitation care in speech therapy to patients referred by physicians, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. This role involves establishing and modifying therapy goals, overseeing clinical fellows, and maintaining professional relationships while delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct rehab care in speech therapy to patients upon physician referral.
  • Establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable, timely, and functional goals for patients.
  • Oversee and evaluate care given by SLP Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates.
  • Follow speech therapy treatment plans under the direction of the supervising SLP CCC.
  • Chart patient progress appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Utilize therapy software accurately for patient documentation.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.
  • Assist in the evacuation of patients when necessary.
  • Demonstrate dependable and regular attendance at work.
  • Communicate effectively and function productively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program in speech therapy (minimum MS or MA SLP).
  • ASHA certified (CCCs) or eligible for 9-month Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
  • Currently registered/licensed in applicable State with an active license in good standing.
  • One (1) year experience in post-acute care or related setting preferred.
  • CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Knowledge of practices and procedures in post-acute care facilities.
