About the position

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides direct rehabilitation care in speech therapy to patients referred by physicians, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. The role involves establishing and modifying therapy goals, overseeing care provided by Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) students, and maintaining professional relationships with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct speech therapy to patients upon physician referral.
  • Establish, assess, and modify therapy goals for patients.
  • Oversee and evaluate care provided by SLP CFYs.
  • Follow speech therapy treatment plans under the direction of supervising SLP CCC.
  • Chart patient progress appropriately and timely.
  • Utilize therapy software accurately.
  • Participate in community health projects as appropriate.
  • Liaise with patients, families, and support departments to plan for patient needs.
  • Demonstrate good body mechanics and independent decision-making when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and adhere to company policies.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program in speech therapy (minimum MS or MA SLP).
  • ASHA certified (CCCs) or eligible for 9-month Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
  • Currently registered/licensed in applicable State with an active license in good standing.
  • One (1) year experience in post-acute care or related setting preferred.
  • CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
  • Knowledge of practices and procedures governing post-acute care facilities.
