About the position

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is responsible for providing speech and language therapy services to clients, ensuring compliance with state licensure requirements and maintaining professional certifications. The role involves working with clients to assess their needs and develop appropriate treatment plans, while also collaborating with other healthcare professionals and adhering to the standards set by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech and language therapy services to clients.
  • Assess clients' speech and language needs and develop treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain compliance with state licensure and certification requirements.
  • Document client progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training.

Requirements

  • Must hold a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a CAA-accredited program.
  • Must hold or be eligible for a Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state of service within 90 days of employment.
  • Must hold a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from ASHA if not in the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
  • Must be certified in CPR or obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds independently and assist with 100 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

  • Work experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
