About the position

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to provide essential speech therapy services to students, focusing on improving their speech functioning and achieving therapy goals. The role involves direct instruction, evaluation, collaboration with educators and families, and participation in IEP meetings, all within a supportive and innovative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized speech therapy programs for students.
  • Monitoring services and providing progress information to help students develop personal goals.
  • Employing speech therapy strategies to improve communication skills, language, cognition, and memory.
  • Writing periodic reviews on students' progress and updating treatment teams.
  • Managing case records according to agency policy and state regulations.
  • Maintaining accurate session documentation and billing within 24 hours of client visits.
  • Establishing effective communication with families regarding scheduling and session activities.
  • Conducting clinical assessments and managing treatment program recommendations.
  • Ensuring timely client intakes and regular evaluations of treatment programs.
  • Improving clinical quality standards through employee training and sharing knowledge.
  • Collaborating with other professionals and participating in team meetings.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in speech pathology or a closely related field.
  • Ability to obtain a state speech language pathology (SLP) license.
  • Prior experience in special education services, particularly for students with autism and emotional disturbances.
  • Proven success in developing effective treatment plans for diverse needs.
  • Proficiency in motivating students and having critical conversations to help them achieve goals.
  • Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and database entry.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with special education services.
  • Skills in vocal and non-vocal manding, language and speech development, and personalized instruction.
