Responsibilities

  • Treat patients with mild to severe communication impairments.
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and their families regarding medical conditions and treatment plans.
  • Implement therapy designs to help patients regain lost skills and adapt to permanent changes due to injury.
  • Determine the need for augmentative and assistive devices and instruct patients on their use and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with physicians, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

  • Must have a graduate or higher-level degree in speech pathology with 18 semester hours in the field and approved clinical practice.
  • Must possess a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice Speech Language Pathology in a U.S. state or territory.
  • One year of specialized experience delivering speech therapy services and formulating treatment plans for speech disorders.
