About the position

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a full-time Speech Therapist to join the Bridgton Hospital Therapy Services team. This role involves providing one-on-one Speech Therapy services to patients of all ages, making a direct positive impact on the community. Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses speech/language or swallowing disorders/delays.
  • Provides intervention/consultations for patients demonstrating disorders/delays in speech, language, communication, and/or swallowing.
  • Provides treatment and instruction to patients according to acceptable principles and practices of Speech/Language Therapy.
  • Follows acceptable principles/practices of the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
  • Provides care to patients in acute and outpatient settings.
  • Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within their capabilities.
  • Collaborates as a member of the healthcare team for comprehensive patient care.
  • Provides care to inpatient pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Maintains training and competency in regulatory requirements such as JCAHO and state and federal regulations.
  • Coordinates, delegates, and supervises responsibilities assigned to assistants and aides.

Requirements

  • Current Maine Licensure in Speech Pathology.
  • Obtain or eligible for Clinical Competence Certificate through the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
  • Current BCLS certification.
