About the position
The Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities in Wilmer, Texas, focusing on providing direct therapy services to students with speech and language challenges. The role includes working closely with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to support bilingual and monolingual students in developing their communication skills. The position is designed to make a meaningful impact on students' lives through effective therapy and collaboration with educational staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct therapy services in both English and Spanish to students with speech and language challenges (Bilingual SLPA).
- Work closely with a licensed SLP to support the development of bilingual students' communication skills.
- Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans and goals.
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure student progress.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language needs (Monolingual SLPA).
- Collaborate with a licensed SLP to implement individualized therapy plans.
- Support students in meeting their communication goals and track progress.
- Work closely with school staff to ensure an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 1+ years speech therapy experience required.
- Active Texas SLPA License (required).
- Bilingual SLPA: Fluent in English and Spanish (required).
- Previous experience in a school setting is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
