About the position

The Pediatric Speech-Pathologist position at Children's Therapy Place, Inc. involves providing speech therapy services in both clinic and school settings. The role focuses on empowering children and their families through innovative therapy and educational programs, as part of a multidisciplinary team. The therapist will conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and implement therapy to help clients achieve their communication goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Speech Therapy services to clients as part of a school IEP/MDT Team.
  • Conducts screenings of clients at regular intervals to determine need for intervention/treatment.
  • Evaluates clients to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation.
  • Conducts specialized evaluations as indicated.
  • Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to school teams.
  • Develops treatment plans by identifying a problem list, including short and long term goals and methods to achieve identified goals.
  • Coordinates treatment plan for client and provides copies for family and other professionals.
  • Implements and conducts treatment plan as outlined in IEP.
  • Monitors client's response to intervention and modifies treatment as indicated to attain goals in accordance with IEP.
  • Documents results of clients' assessment, treatment, follow-up, and termination of services.
  • Adapts treatment to meet the individual needs of the client.
  • Recommends and obtains appropriate equipment to improve client's communication.
  • Instructs client, family, and team in use of augmentative communication devices.
  • Instructs client and family in appropriate speech procedures or home program to allow carry over of therapeutic remediation and goals in daily activities.
  • Participates in discharge planning in accordance with the IEP.
  • Participates in client, family, and school staff education.
  • Attends in-service meetings and facility meetings as required.

Requirements

  • A Master's Degree.
  • Certification of Clinical Competency in Speech-Hearing from the American Speech-Hearing Association.
  • Must be licensed in the state of Idaho.
  • Maintain positive relationships and appropriate boundaries with coworkers, clients, family members and other facility personnel.
