About the position

The Speech Language Pathologist at Doctors Hospital of Laredo is responsible for performing speech therapy evaluations and treatments in both outpatient and acute inpatient settings. This role involves assessing patients, developing treatment plans, and supervising support staff, all while continuously improving professional knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform speech therapy assessment upon receiving physician's orders.
  • Provide written evaluation and plan of care to the physician.
  • Reassess patients monthly to update the plan of care.
  • Supervise speech therapy assistants and other support staff.
  • Continuously improve knowledge and skills in speech-language pathology.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Speech Language Pathology.
  • TX State Speech Therapy License required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Ability to serve as a lead worker and assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Director.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a positive, courteous attitude.
