About the position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Speech Therapist to join our team at The Village at Orchard Ridge. This role is PRN or as needed, providing flexibility in your work schedule. As a Speech Therapist, you will be responsible for helping our residents overcome communication and swallowing disorders, which is essential for maintaining their quality of life and independence. You will work closely with the residents to evaluate their speech, language, and cognitive-communication abilities, develop personalized treatment plans, and administer therapeutic interventions aimed at improving their functional abilities. In this role, you will provide support across various neighborhoods including Assisted Living, Assisted Living Memory Care, Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, and Independent Living (Outpatient). Collaboration is key, as you will work alongside an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. This teamwork ensures that our residents receive coordinated and comprehensive care tailored to their individual needs. Your expertise will play a vital role in enhancing the residents' communication skills and overall well-being, making a significant impact on their daily lives.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents' speech, language, and cognitive-communication abilities.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans for residents.
  • Administer therapeutic interventions to improve residents' functional abilities.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide support across various neighborhoods including Assisted Living, Memory Care, Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, and Independent Living.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Experience in geriatric speech therapy or a senior living setting (preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
