About the position

The Speech Therapist at The Village at Orchard Ridge is responsible for assisting residents with communication and swallowing disorders, enhancing their quality of life and independence. This role involves evaluating residents' speech, language, and cognitive-communication abilities, creating personalized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions. The therapist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care across various living environments, including Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents' speech, language, and cognitive-communication abilities.
• Develop personalized treatment plans for residents.
• Administer therapeutic interventions to improve functional abilities.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
• Provide support across Assisted Living, Memory Care, Long-Term care, Skilled Nursing, and Independent Living neighborhoods.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Experience in geriatric speech therapy or a senior living setting (preferred).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate and patient-focused approach.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
