About the position
The Speech Therapist at Evergreen at Ely, LLC is responsible for evaluating and diagnosing speech, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders. This role involves developing and implementing treatment plans, conducting assessments, and monitoring patient progress to ensure effective communication and rehabilitation.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate hearing or speech and language test results to diagnose disorders.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for speech, language, fluency, voice, or swallowing disorders.
- Administer evaluations and tests to collect information on impairments.
- Teach patients techniques to control or strengthen speech-related muscles.
- Instruct patients in effective communication techniques such as sign language or lip reading.
- Develop speech exercise programs to reduce disabilities.
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatments as necessary.
- Write reports and maintain documentation of evaluations and treatment progress.
- Complete administrative responsibilities including coordinating paperwork and scheduling activities.
- Educate patients and family members on communication techniques and coping strategies.
Requirements
- Currently licensed by the State of Nevada or ability to obtain prior to employment.
- Prefer at least one year of experience as a Speech Therapist.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Good communication and patient relations skills.
- Sufficient ability to perform job duties.
